Terms of Service

01 — The service

Startup Staff is an AI-powered boardroom application that gives founders and builders access to a configurable team of AI specialist personas — a Chief of Staff (Donna), and specialists covering Engineering (Tony), Finance (Mike), Marketing (Steve), Legal (Harvey), Architecture (Leonardo), and HR (Sigmund). Every query is routed through a three-phase multi-agent pipeline: the Chief of Staff decides which specialists are relevant, each specialist responds independently using your assigned AI models, and the Chief of Staff synthesises a unified recommendation.

The service connects to AI providers of your choice — including OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, Mistral, and OpenAI-compatible endpoints — using API keys you supply. We are a software platform only.

We do not provide legal, financial, medical, or professional advice. Responses generated by AI models through our platform are not professional advice and should not be relied upon as such.

02 — Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Startup Staff. By using the service, you represent that you meet this requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement under the laws of your jurisdiction.

03 — Your account

You sign in using your LinkedIn account via Supabase OAuth. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it.

You must not share your account with others or use the service on behalf of another person without their explicit authorisation.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or are used in a manner we reasonably determine to be harmful, abusive, or unlawful.

04 — API keys and third-party providers

By entering an API key, you authorise Startup Staff to use it to make requests to the relevant AI provider on your behalf, within the application. Your API keys are stored in your Supabase account and loaded into the application at sign-in. You must not enter API keys that you are not authorised to use.

We are not responsible for charges, overages, or usage violations incurred through your API keys. Monitor your provider dashboards and set usage limits where possible. Note that a single query to Startup Staff may trigger multiple API calls — up to one routing call, one call per relevant specialist (up to six), and one synthesis call — depending on your configuration.

05 — Acceptable use

You agree not to use Startup Staff to:

• Generate content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, or fraudulent.
• Attempt to circumvent, disable, or interfere with the security or integrity of the service.
• Scrape, copy, or redistribute the application or its underlying code without our written permission.
• Use the service to develop a competing product or service.
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations, including data protection laws.
• Upload content that infringes the intellectual property rights of others.

We reserve the right to terminate access for any breach of these conditions.

06 — Content you provide

You retain ownership of any content you upload to the service, including documents, URLs, staff customisations, knowledge base entries, and founder preferences. By uploading content, you grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display it solely for the purpose of providing the service to you.

Content you provide — including your startup description, memory entries, and knowledge base — is used to personalise AI responses within the application. It is stored in your Supabase account and is not used to train AI models.

You are responsible for ensuring that content you upload does not violate any third-party rights or applicable laws.

07 — AI-generated content

We are not liable for decisions made on the basis of AI-generated responses. This is especially important for legal, financial, medical, or other professional matters where you should consult a qualified human professional.

08 — Intellectual property

All rights in the Startup Staff application, including its design, code, branding, interfaces, and AI persona configurations, are owned by Modular Technology Solutions Pte Ltd. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our trademarks, logos, or proprietary materials without our written consent.

09 — Availability and modifications

We aim to keep Startup Staff available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the service or any feature at any time, with or without notice. We are not liable for any loss resulting from service interruptions or changes.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. Material changes will be communicated via email or an in-app notice.

10 — Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Modular Technology Solutions Pte Ltd and its directors, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the service.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of these Terms or your use of the service shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or SGD 100, whichever is greater.

11 — Disclaimer of warranties

Startup Staff is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be error-free, secure, or uninterrupted.

12 — Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.
